For a change it thought of checking out a different area of Mumbai. I had morning show in the theater. After that flop movie I went for some shopping. And as I was around Takur region I thought of checking out the Takur Village.

I could find a wide variety of crowd on the way to Takur village. Some people sitting idley in the footpath, whereas others do works like selecting useful things from garbage. Aside from the posh south area of Mumbai all other regions are infected by Slums. The latest survey on news paper says 43% of Mumbai residents are Maharashtriants where as 57% percent majority are migrants from other states. And Maharashtriants can be proud to be the fact that 52% of Maharashtriants are living in slums. They enjoy free shelf facilities with big pipe blocks left for construction.

Can you believe! Even Mumbai has river. You should see the condition of the river water. No wonder people who are born and brought up in Mumbai have a greater attraction to Kerala green lakes.

Mumbai Corporation has started keeping the lower region of Flyover clean by maintaining one small park in there. But I could see people in gangs with beer bottles thanking Mumbai Corporation for that provision.

Out from the Eastern express highway to Takur Village the first thing I noticed is the Power supply lines for Mahindra& Mahindra. They do keep there campus clean and healthy by Littering there waste around the wall.

If you like to see the real Mumbai you should visit the markets of Mumbai. On the way I saw Takur fish market. There wasn’t anyone there other than some people cleaning the market place. But I could see the place was still hectic to stay around even after cleaning.

Bangalore is a costlier city where as Mumbai has different level of people from Slums to Villas. So do the price of things available in the market. If you come in the lower level you will get the cheapest facilities. I had one glass of Sugar cane juice for 3 rupees and had a hair cut for 15rs. I think those prices are history in Kerala.

Takur wasn’t that undeveloped region as I thought. There are small flats without parking facilities and flats with Huge Playing area which now a days builders don’t waste.

I reached Takur village junction, I could see a small junction circle with a statue in the center. People who want to study on Mumbai and the ones who like to see Mumbai should start with the slums or regions where medium level people reside because life and culture differs from one region to another. Then only you can make a comment on Mumbai.
