Rithu – The Movie

Rithu tells a buddy tale that blooms in the changing social and emotional landscape of a small south Indian town.
Three childhood friends, who grew up in the same neighborhood and went to same school and college, weave up their dreams about life together. Sarat, Varsha, and Sunny were inseparable in their love, bonding, and innocence. Sarat and Varsha grew fond of each other, in a more internal and less physical manner. And Sunny, was more like a brother to Sarat. To raise money to achieve their dreams Sarat leaves for northern California to live and work. The other two take up a job at Bangalore.

Three years later, they return to the throes of their changing hometown. After an emotional reunion and a sweet build-up of hopes, each finds that beneath their camaraderie, they had actually outgrown their old selves.

Their lives now transformed with the times, come to unexpected collisions of interests and Sarat finds himself caught between his idea of their past and the strangeness of the changed persona of his bosom friends. In the final loss of innocence, Sarat is betrayed by both friends in different ways.

The movie is directed by Shayamaprasad

The script is written by Joshua Newtonn

There were hired guys who stood infront of Calicut Apsara theatre to spread bad opinion about Notebook to people who were arriving for the matinee show. This forced Notebook’s director Roshan Andrews to appear in the media for criticizing these anti-social elements and defending his film. Grihalakshmi films had sought police protection and two police men were appointed in 2 or 3 major centres. This rented degrading was a major factor in denying Notebook its deserved success at the box office.

During 2006 Onam, something similar had happened against Classmates during its opening days(at Ernakulam), but the powerful producer Lal’s backing had forced the “The Don” to withdraw from the booing activity. It had led to a split between Lal and Dileep who had worked together for many hit films like Kalyanaraman, Chanthupottu etc.

The movie comes under the category of romance and fantasy. Reece Witherspoon is a doctor who is very much dedicated to her profession. She is a lonely control freak. The story starts when she is met with an accident. She enters a deep coma and her spirit gets out of her body. Mean while her apartment is rented to another lonely “Love lost” person. Only he can see her. Both of them together finds out whats happening and in the process falls in love with each other. The movie reaches climax when the hospital authorities decide to remove her life supporting devices.

The entire movie is filled with magic, the magical tricks shown in the movie are really entertaining. The story is about a magician who has traveled the world coming back to his home town after a very long period. There he finds his childhood girl friend already engaged to the crowned prince. Then the story unveils are he uses his magic to get hold of the girl. The story is set in 19th century vienna. The police man in the movie gets more screen share than the main actor magician, and his role is very important in the movie. The story ends with a big surprise to the audience, but the ending is very happy and enjoyable. The lead actress is extremely beautiful and resembles someone I know.
