I was always afraid of girls and I still am cos I live in Kerala and I am a victim of “fear of being teased”. Our media, our elders and even our education system propagates this idea of “eve teasing” to an extent where girls tend to think of themselves are some sort of objects waiting to be teased.

Their definition of eve teasing includes

Staring
Looking
Adjusting the rear view mirror

Every once in a while feminist magazines discuss eve teasing and ways to prevent it. I have discussed this with many of my friend including females and males. Majority of them had thought of this a a very common problem. But when discussed further they couldn’t quantify or come up with first person experiences. The ones who said they had experiences couldn’t say for sure whether it was intentional. May be I live in a very good society.

I am not saying that teasing is non existent. But I am sure this is not happening to an extent, these attention seeking feminist psychos think. I have never seen not even one instance of teasing in public. Do I live in a perfect society ? Right now in this room there are 4 males and none except one has first hand experience of a teasing incident. The one that has says he saw a couple in a park and the male was teasing….. wait… teasing ???? or were they enjoying ?

Some Do’s and Dont’s for men to be safe from feminist psychos.

Never even go near a girl in public
Always stand in between males in a queue
Avoid public transport
Dont let any girl sit near you in a public transport
If you are going alone to the movies, buy tickets for adjacent seats also.
In public, wear opaque sunglasses.
If you see a girl driving, make sure you are at least 100mts far
Never visit malls when they are crowded
Do not use your camera mobile where there are females, even if its for calling.

Mobile Phones – An Adults Only Device ???

Until now it was the colleges who were after banning mobiles phones from campuses. Now it looks like the Kerala Government is bend upon banning mobile phones in schools and colleges. The claimed reason being the misuse of phones by children.

What ever the government or the principals say about children using mobile phone, one thing is sure. No child can misuse a mobile to a greater extent than an adult can misuse it. Will this ban be effective for teachers also. I know quite a few teachers who are “misusing” their mobiles.

Media reports about the ban quote a principal who said that the daily routines of the children are affected by using mobiles phones. I wonder what routine he is referring to. Is it

Writing Impositions to satisfy teachers ego.
Stupid copy writing (i did that for 10 years and still my hand writing is pathetic)
Trying to remember a few dates and names for the sake of history
Learning what kind of soil is there in the northern region of Bihar
Doing some creepy arithmetic without calculators

The biggest argument against giving phones to children is an mms clip showing an intimate moment of a school girl and boy. Hey…… thats just one clip. There are thousands of other clips shot by adults. Shouldn’t we be considering a ban on adults using mobile phone considering the fact that they are misusing it more.

What does this ban tell the younger ones ?

Does it convey the message that its ok to misuse mobile phones when one becomes an adult ? Why do we certify certain movies as adults only ? Does a wrong become a right when someone crosses 18 yrs of life.

Why are we always after the kids. They dont invent crime. We teach them crime. Its us who needs a change and not the school kids.Similar Posts:

Vanitha Magazine, Internet and the Mobile phone

I recently read a long feature about the harm caused by mobile phones in “Vanitha Magazine“, a local womens magazine which is very popular. The main argument was that students are using mobile phone to view and share porn. The article is written in such a manner that no parent will dare to buy a mobile phone for his son or daughter.

This is not the first time that Vanitha magazine is writing against mobile phones. A few years back, it was the cable TV and then the internet and now mobile phones. I know many families who decided no to buy a computer or take an internet connection just because of some stupid article in Vanitha or the newspapers.

All the features that came in Vanitha about the internet or the mobile phone had many touching stories in them, supposed to be true, where some boys are using mobile phones to share porn, or some kid who lost interest in studies because of the internet.

Some schools and colleges have banned mobile phones. I still dont A college student is expected to be the responsible head of a family after a few years. If we cant trust him/her with a mobile phone, how are we going to trust him/her with a family.

We all make mistakes. Its very true that the internet and mobile phones can be misused. We can misuse cable TV, anyone watched MTV grind or the FTV ? Why are we not banning cable TV ? Id say its double standards cos we all want to watch the silly serials where every husband has a secret affair and all the young girls are roaming around with other boys.

Vanitha dont have the moral right to speak about the harm caused by phones or the internet, cos they are the part of a Malayala Manorama group, which owns another “M” publication which publishes all sorts of tingling stories. Just take a look at the drawings in those magazines and you will understand what I am saying.

Why dont they review the effects of such stories and drawings on the youth in Kerala, rather than fighting a war against the technologies that are feeding millions and have changed the world so much.
