The right to exercise voting is confidential and the constitution guarantees these and any violation by any third party is a criminal offence for it violates the norms of the constitution. MalayalaManorama recently brought out an article on Story Dated: Tuesday, November 10, 2009 12:47 hrs IST about how the Collector of Ernakulam and I.G Tomin Thachankery voted for the LDF based on the postal vote analysis. The report goes deep saying that there were a total of 15 votes received and that 5 were invalid and the rest were cast for L.D.F resulting in the above deduction . Isn’t it a violating of constitutional rights? Shouldn’t the watchdogs of the constitution namely the judiciary be taking up this issue? If a prominent news paper like MalayalaManorama can do this without any moral responsibility what would be the fate of others?
