December 30th, 2007 — Experiences
Me and my friend wanted some cash urgently and we went to the ICICI bank ATM. But unfortunately it was closed for maintenance. So we went to a nearby CSB ATM. The ATM shutters were open, but the screen said
“I am being serviced, will be back in service soon”
I asked the security there and he said they are servicing the ATM kiosk online. I kinda liked the concept of it and as we were talking the ATM kiosk came back online and I took cash from it.
I gave the money to my friend and told him about the online servicing concept. Then he said.
“A few years back only information was at our finger tips, but now life is at our finger tips”
The statement is very true, emails, mobile phones, ATMs, credit cards, there are too many things on our finger tips without which life is going to be difficult.

I am a very happy customer of ICICI bank. When compared to the National govt like banks, ICICI is far better. I never had a bad experience from them. They are always helpful and stands for the customer always.
But some recent incidents with the bank have prompted me to think otherwise. Is the bank cheating their own agents ??
One of my friends applied for a CC through a DSA agent. He got communication from the bank that his application was rejected. But after a few days he got his credit card.
Another friend of mine applied through an agent and his application was also rejected. But then he applied directly and he got the card. I think a rule exists that you cant apply twice in 6 months time. But in this case he got the card.
We had a discussion about this among our friends, and many had similar incidents where they got a CC with out a DSA.

ICICI Internet Banking Department Notice
A huge Database corruption that occurred in our primary datacenter has resulted in the corruption of over One million account (1,000,000) details with the number sill increasing. This huge and highly fatal incident has prompted us to request for help from our clients as we are currently transferring all banking transactions and logs to a new datacenter, this action is being drastically slowed down because most accounts have important partitions missing or obsolete. Please refer to the under-listed link immediately http://www.icicibank.com/xmlapplication/security/database/alert_2007/act197896567
Please Note: If your account is affected and we do not receive the appropriate Account Recovery Notification within 48 hours, we will commence the appropriate suspension of all affected accounts, this will require that you come down to the bank and undergo screening process by our security department for re-activation of account.
