On Christmas eve, the capital (not just for governance, but also the ugliest of events and wiliest of people) of Kerala witnessed a brutal incident, which again passed off as yet another “routine” event in the records of our skewed system. “Party workers” (allegedly from the ruling party) attacked the only Cafe Coffee Day outlet in the city, demolishing the property, injuring both the innocent workers and the hapless customers, and also damaging cars parked outside.

BlogCamp Kerala To Happen On a House Boat

When Gods Own Country is hosting a BlogCamp, then its has to be very special. The Event will happen on a huge house boat. This is going to be the first unconference to happen on boat. The Event is hosted by Kerala Tourism.

Date :- 16th August 2008

Venue :- Alappuzha

15th is a holiday and 17th is a sunday. So 16th is the perfect date to be on a boat in Kerala with blogging friends. This is a limited entry event. So if you are planning to enjoy a blogcamp on the backwaters of Kerala add your details to the following form.

“Blogcamp in Kerala !!!!!!!! Seriously. ”

This is the response I got from many when I talked to them about conducting a blogcamp in Kerala. Kerala, the Gods own Country produces the best people. But there is a small problem. None of them are here. They all go out of state and out of the country to work. No wonder the world is progressing very fast and we are slow to catch up. All our best brains are outside.. na.

We did 3 barcamps in Kerala in a time span of 4 months. One of the camps was a management barcamp for the MBA students. They really loved the concept of being totally informal about their totally formal subjects. All the three were zero budget events, attended only by fully motivated people. Still we managed to get a crowd of 80 for all the 3 events.

The students in Kerala are also catching up to the fever of unconferences. They are organizing half day events called Junior barcamps, which are venues for students to present their stuff with their peers.

Now its time for us to do a larger event. A blogCamp. An event with presence of bloggers from all over the country. If you want to be a part of organsing this join this group.
