I am for freedom and against anyone who wishes to curb it. This is a free country and liberty must be at the forefront of its citizens rights.

I am for the gay rights and against the moral police and the Catholic church that is against it. No legal system has the right to make it illegal for someone to be who they are. I still do not understand why gay marriage would corrupt traditional ones.

I am for the right of Catholic church and other Christian churches to evangelize and convert. Even the Pentecostal churches that poach from traditional ones. Even the ones that use money as a bait for conversion. As long as nobody is forced to convert, it is all fair game. I am also for the more recent efforts by Sangh Parivar to reconvert some. That is also fair game. Just know that faith is not something that can be changed forcefully; it is deep within oneself.

I am for the Danish cartoonist who drew the cartoons and Salman Rushdie and against the Imams who issued Fatwa’s against them. If your prophet is so feeble as to be destroyed by a stupid cartoon, you really have bigger problems. The same goes against the people who were against giving asylum to Taslima Nasreen. The novel Lajja has nothing against any religion, except may be bits and parts that are against the orthodoxy in Bangladesh which is a heavily oppressed and hence pathetic nation. The ideas of the novel is not even as liberal as what is mainstream in India. And the biggest shame was the UPA government who did not have the guts to offer her shelter when she came looking for shelter. Whatever happened to अतिथि देवो भव:?

I am for MF Hossein and his art and against the people who issued a Hindu version of Fatwa against him. And to my friend who asked me whether I would like it if someone drew a nude Virgin Mary: Yes sir, I would like it, you know what it already exists. I have seen art in Guggenheim and Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC that has such images. Nobody bats an eye lid. They enjoy the art. Artistic freedom shall never be infringed. And again, shame on UPA government to fail to offer protection to a national treasure, a gifted artist of more than a generation.

I am for Dan Brown and Da Vinci Code and against the Catholic Church who opposed its release. If your faith is so feeble as a movie could destroy it, it never has a chance to survive. At least the clergy who voiced their opinion should have opened a history books and seen that the church has survived far superior powers and far superior propaganda campaigns. It was utterly shameful to see them having such little ‘faith’ in their faith. The only effect that campaign had was to have at least a few more people go and watch the movie out of sheer curiosity. The distributors must have sent a thank-you letter to CBCI after a few weeks.

I am for Mel Gibson and The Passion of Christ and against the Jewish organizations who wanted to ban the movie. The movie did not show anything more graphic than what is depicted in bible. There are more current things going around, that could cause anti-semitic sentiments if you really open your eyes.

I am for the Tibetans facing persecution in China and against the oppressive regime there. India under Nehru showed supreme leadership in human rights and support for freedom by giving asylum and support to Dalai Lama and the numerous Tibetan diaspora who exiled to India. It is sad to see the descendants of Nehru are not showing the same courage to protect freedom.

The recent incidents like chopping off someone’s hands only prove that the only way for this great nation to thrive and move forward is to let freedom flourish and not allow any forces, any religion, any ideology to lay hand on it.

Let freedom ring from the peaks of Himalayas to the Vivekananda rock in Kanyakumari.

Let freedom ring from deserts of Rajasthan to the marshes of Sunderbans.

The Christian Leadership Benefits From the Josephs Chopped Hand

The only element that united the Christian community in Kerala was Jesus Christ and his teachings, but the leadership always wanted more, they wanted the followers to be more united as a community and as an organisation, not for a good cause, but for their selfish business interests and their political power games. But they never could make the entire community come together. The common usage “Athu angu Palliyil poyi paranjal mathi” shows the poor influence of Christian leaders on the community.

There are many reasons for a community to unite and fear of an enemy is the most compelling reason. Every leadership tries to find an enemy so that they could use it as a means to unite their followers. India always had Pakisthan, USA had Russia and Israel had Palestine. Even political parties attempt the same, Communists target the rich and BJP targets the non Hindu. The PDP has now given the Christian in Kerala an enemy to unite against.

So far the Christian community did not feel fear the extremists of other communities, every other small communal incident was seen as an isolated event. Even the cemetery issue at Vaikom could not evoke a sense of fear among the Christian community. But with the hand chopping incident and the support from some factions of the Muslim community for the culprits have changed all that.

When this question paper issue started every Christian thought of Joseph as an idiot and a fanatic. Not even a single Christian supported him, everyone thought he deserved the suspension and the criminal case against him. But with the brutal violence against him the thought process has changed, he has now become a victim and people are even thinking he is innocent.

The protest rallies in Muvattupuzha, Thodupuzha and Perumbavoor supporting the culprits of the hand chopping was a bit too much. The Christian community now feels a bit insecure and threatened. They are intimidated by the blind unity of the Muslim community.

Anyways the Christian leadership must be happy, this incident will give the Christian community a reason to be more united and more obedient to the leadership. Now they can give a better context to their campaigns for more Children and more community involvement in the Churches political ambitions.Similar Posts:

The Controversial Question Paper And Some Truths

Yesterday Muslim extremists chopped of the hand of the teacher who was responsible for the controversial question paper. Lets forgive the extremists cos we dont expect anything else from those idiots. They are filled with venom from a young age and they expect a virgin at heaven wen they die. Even I wont mind chopping a hand or a leg if I have the conviction that Ill get laid in heaven.

But there are a few others in this whole controversy that we cannot forgive even after knowing the truth. The controversial question is taken from a book written by Ex-CPI-M MLA P. T. Kunhumuhammad. How can a piece written by a well known Muslim itself insult the prophet ? Ohh I understood it becomes an insult when a someone from another religion copied it. Thats how communal-ism works right ?

The police kidnapped the teachers son and held him hostage to make the teacher surrender himself. When did our police become so chicken ? Why was no action taken against the illegal custody of an innocent person ?

The KSU did a protest march, again dont expect more from the little monkeys.

Education minister MA Baby asked the Idukki district administration to file a criminal case against the teacher.

The diocese which owns the college immediately came up with an apology to the Islamic community thereby officially declaring the teacher a culprit. If no wrong was done then why apologize ?

The college authorities even went to the extent of suspending the teacher, now thats only because the Christian management wanted to wash their hands off the issue and give in to angry Muslim mob ? Ohh yea its history repeating itself.

Remember the Governor of Judia, Pontius Pilate who washed his hands off the issue even when he knew Jesus Christ was innocent and allowed the Jews to crucify him. The Christian management did exactly the same. I pray for their souls cos they are the most pathetic and in need of our prayers.Similar Posts:

No one can beat Malayala Manorama in misleading people. The latest example is the news of Mangalore Air crash. While all other channels and newspapers reported the Air India Express crashed while landing manorama reported the opposite. They even used Air India representative Mr. Aby George as the source of this news.. Poor guy

They dint stop here. Another report says some people who are in the hospital now were popped out to 3km in the crash.

Society or a community exits with a single phenomenon. That’s rules. Youth might ask why we need the rules and why we should follow them. Before coming to that you should understand the evolution of rules.

A society or a community is a region of space around us. The social environment around us will change frequently. And always we just try to adapt to the changes around us. Like Darvin said some will survive coping up with the changes some doesn’t. So it became a requirement to maintain the environment around us that more than majority can survive. This environmental change is created by the decisions each one take in our life. Just because the individual decision has a major role in determination of this environment, which affects every ones environment, to make the environment joyful for everyone they together made a limitation for the individual decisions which can destroy the happiness or joy of others environment.

So it became a necessity of rules for every society. The society which creates rules which can be acceptable for majority of the population can survive more because it creates those enjoyable circumstances for everyone to live. If you check the history of the civilizations you can find that people tend to deviate from the society thinking that the rules are just the burden. When someone comes with a common idea of a new society without rules they split out from the society where they have stated and will create a new community without rules and burden.

But ultimately what happens? When those new societies come to existence they will start facing problems to their new environment. This might happen only after a few generations but that is inevitable for a society to survive. They will then realize the value of rules and the impact on those on their environment.

The tradition is something which is handed over from generations to generations. Traditions are the only things which differ from society to society. That’s the main reason traditions have a very huge impact on the human. Human has its creativity in him. But most of the things we do are what we have learned from others. So it does affect our desires and imaginations.

Take example of having dinner at the table, you can have food sitting anywhere or while watching TV but you will be psychologically satisfied only if you have the dinner around the table. The same happens with all religious and social traditions. For mental and psychological stability of a society or an environment you should carry on the traditions neglecting the ones which you cannot at any cost.

That’s the main reason why it’s important to have the major ceremonies in life celebrated in the traditions the adherents of the corresponding communities does. And it’s your decision to set traditions by adding your ideas so that it will be passed on.Similar Posts:

Living together is not a crime?

Living together can not be considered as a crime. It is a fundamental right. We all have the right to live. Our constitution allows that. Human were like that, they live together in order to survive. Khusboo knows this. Not all the actors are fools. Earlier Khusboo was goddess. She had a temple. Khusboo’s films were (most of them) dealt with conservative themes. In chinnathambi she eats from the plates of her husband’s. When she became outdated she do get roles in serials. Like many others she also became a social activist. Now a days it is the trick to regain the lost popularity (not sure just watch IPL show Shetty’s and Zinta’s are there!!).

The heading is derived from the recent supreme court remark regarding Pre-marital relations. The apex court observes that “a man and woman living together without marriage cannot be considered as an offence”. It also made it clear that “living together is not an offence”. Five years ago Khusboo made a statement that now a days no man can really believe that the lady whom he is going to marry will be a virgin. Fundamentalists said that it is an open fire against marriage and family. The recent supreme court remark was in connection with the Khusboo case.

The three judge bench observed that “even lord krishna and Radha lived together”. All are true, we are a modern society now. Pre-marital relation is not a crime. What about pre-marital sex, is it a crime. What about the raids taken place in hotels and lodges across the country in all these days. What about the punishments? All were in vein!. So in short what is the point. There is nothing called sin in a pre-marital relationship. Is our society this much matured. Still we are fighting for religion, land and money. We are more and more concerned about our caste and religion. Are we matured? I don’t think so. We are less inclusive society. Caste based reservation still exists here. Family is the atom of a society. If it is termed as “living together” what is the significance.

Some years before there was a case about one model claimed that she is not married but one man said that she was her wife. Finally she was ousted from the competition. Later she made it clear that she pretended to be married in order to get a house to live. All these happened. Now we are saying this is not a crime. There are more important things that need more attention in this society. We have to focus on these. Pre-matial and extra marital relations are the symptoms of an unhealthy society.
