Have you ever wanted to be a TV reporter ? I do wanted to report something from my locality. Till now the problem was that to be a reporter you need to have access to a costly professional camera. Assume you have a camera, who will air it. Now with online video sharing websites you can be a reporter with out investment. All you need is a story to report. And Im sure its not hard finding a story.
Internet reporters can focus on the soft news, news which is time insensitive. This includes features about people, companies and organizations n the locality. Try and create local celebrities.
With a decent enough camera you can cover local entertainment programs. College festivals, school annual day celebrations and other stage shows in the locality that might be on interest to the general public.
And then again you can find a local sponsor to support your initiatives and also provide you with enough pocket money.

Now is the best time to make a short movie because of the following reasons.
With the advent of cheap digital cameras movie making has become affordable to everyone. All that you need is a good script and the talent to direct it. A DV camera can be rented for below 1000 Rs for a day.
With the advanced editing softwares, you need not pay too much attention to the lighting and audio part of the movie, since you can edit it at any time you want.
Now that the cost factor has come down you can do more experiments and let your creativity unleash. Money is not stoppingyou from making your dream movie.
Internet and video sharing sites has become so popular that you need not spend any money to reach your audience. Upload your movie on to youtube or google videos and send the link to your friends. If your movie is good, it will spread virally.
Above all you always can find someone to sponsor your short film. Putting your movie online will get you a lot of viewers and many advertisers will be interested to tap into that audience. Local language films have a huge advantage in this regard because the audience is pretty much targetted.

Me and my friends were waiting in the queue to get tickets for the movie “Naquab”, my friend Nikhil is a movie fan, just like me (that can be an understatement since he has got more ideas and talent in that field). We were talking about making a movie, and it almost seemed like a distant dream. But suddenly I thought about the short comedy video I saw online in youtube. It was named “Technopark Jada” and had 50K views when I saw it.
There an opportunity became clear, if we can write short scripts and make it into a movie and release it online, there is a huge community waiting there to view it and spread it if they like it. Short films can be shot using local handheld cameras or for a bit of perfection we can use semi professional cameras. Some one with knowledge of adobe premiere can edit the shots into a movie. If the story line is good an interesting people will spread it to their friends.
So we have people with artistic talent and technical knowledge to make a small movie. Now we need money to produce it. What about selling 30 sec ad space before the movie. with 50K views there will be many interested advertisers.
