I am a conspiracy theorist and I love Micheal Moore documentaries. Now I doubt the real intention behind apple for releasing Iphone in a very secure mode and then making a lot of buzz about it.
Ever since Iphone was released Ive been hearing about hacks and the hacks are really cool. Today I saw some more cool hacks demoed by Sidharth at the modemo. Nintendo emulators, gravity games, installation managers etc.
From among all the demos here at modemo Sidharth’s demo was the coolest and the audience just loved it. This publicity is the root cause of my doubt. Is this a planned publicity stunt from Apple ?
My friend Tony who is a core techie bought an Iphone cos he was interested in the hacking part of it. He got his phone shipped from the US through a friend and he has been trying various hacks on it. Also he is talking about it to everyone.
Hacked applications are more popular than normal Iphone apps. Now this definitely looks like a planned publicity stunt ?

Contemplating buying a big screen…First get your priorities on paper then make the decision. Here are some useful tip’s for making the decision.
Pro’s of LCD TV
They have sharper Images and richer color, Slim and Sleek.
Con’s
Very Expensive. Life of around 5 years after which it starts to dim. Fixed Size, Cannot move it around.
Pro’s of Projector
Relatively very cheep. You can decide the size of the screen by adjusting the location. Very Portable.
Con’s
Have to change lamp every 4000 hours. Needs smooth wall with White color for best performance. Not very bright when there is light around.
If you are a real movie Buff - and like to watch movies on big screens with good sound - go for the projector. And if you are looking for something for the sitting room of your house, where everyone can sit and watch…then LCD’s are your answer.

I have a lot of big files on my laptop, and my laptop has only 40GB hard disk. Most of the times I download videos from youtube and google videos. All these are filling up my hard disk. Also I want to share these videos with everyone in my team, cos most of the videos are tech videos. I also have with me tons of tutorial files written on to DVDs and Cds.
So to share the files with everyone I decided to buy a network harddisk. But the costs are a bit high for 1000 GB device (around 20K). Why would I buy a 1000 GB network storage for 20K when I can buy two 500 GB HDDs for 5K each, and then setup them in one of my old PCs.
And the search for a good software led me to FreeNas. FreeNAS is a free NAS (Network-Attached Storage) server, supporting: CIFS (samba), FTP, NFS, AFP, RSYNC, iSCSI protocols, S.M.A.R.T., local user authentication, Software RAID (0,1,5) with a Full WEB configuration interface. FreeNAS takes less than 32MB once installed on Compact Flash, hard drive or USB key.
Ill be soon setting up freenas and giving it a try. Will post the details after doing so.

The speed with which the technology has changed with regards to the number of cores inside the processor has been amazing. But is all those cores really worth it? For example a Pentium Dual Core processor has two cores of equal speed working at 1.6GHz which gives you a total speed of 3.2GHz. But will your machine actually use that kind of processing power? Throughout the life time of a processor 95% of these processors never reach 100% Processing Power. Most of the processing power on a desktop machine is taken up by background applications like your operating system, your GUI, the antivirus and in most cases Viruses. And to top it all off these multi-core processors are only supported by very few applications.
Then how do you go about purchasing a new computer?Well the first thing to think about when you are purchasing the computer is your requirement:
Just home use - typing out documents, browsing Internet, Playing a few games and watching movies once in a while - you should go for a AMD Sempron Processor (Celeron only is Sempron is not available)
All the above + Ripping Movies & Music and Playing high end Games, playing around with Corel Draw and Photoshop - you should go for a Pentium Dual Core or an Athlon X2 Processor.
Working with 3D graphics and Autocad? well Core 2 Duo is the answer to your query

We were all expecting a cute looking Gphone from google, which would be cheap and fully loaded with useful software, and would sell hot in the market. With the kind of reach they have to the public, they could have capture the majority market share in one year. But google proved to be smarter than we thought.
Google announced the Open Handset Alliance and the Android.
The Open Handset Alliance™, a group of more than 30 technology and mobile companies who have come together to accelerate innovation in mobile and offer consumers a richer, less expensive, and better mobile experience. Together they have developed Android™, the first complete, open, and free mobile platform.
Instead of creating an entire phone, they created an open Operating System which every phone manufacturer can use. Developers can create applications without any restrictions.
Platform always beats an application.
Google applied the same principle again. Instead of creating a phone, they created an OS that would become a platform for thousands of developers and hundreds of phone manufacturers.
The days of symbian, and windows mobile seems to be numbered.
