    Religion and God-Image

    Religion and God

    February 12, 2011 by Avant-Garde

You can make a better living, if you just read the bible and Quran so carefully.. and understand the reason for each sentence in those.

Do u really think uncivilized people would’ve realized the need for human morality and inter human ethics ?

And intellectual people of those time, who realized this need of human morality and who understood them as the key for the existence of human race, came up with a story, a really good story, a weird way of explaining the need for our existence and mutual aiding.

First they made the concept of GOD. You can see that from all religion that GOD is just an indescribable and unexplainable human being with superpower. GOD has all emotions like a human being, gets angry, Love, punish. This shows that the GOD, as we see in religion, are just a man made explanation.

Then they made religion, explaining, GOD created human in his image. If you re-examine, you can see that, its just the other way round. Human made a concept of GOD as an image of Human.

This Religion and GOD continued to grow for ages. But Jesus (can be a person, or a collection of intellectuals) realized that this way of living ( religion ) is not serving the purpose. So he came up with a new edited version of story including new ideas of Love and Forgiveness, laying the foundation of Roman catholic church. He could’ve come up with a whole new perfect story, but he realized that its very difficult for people to shift from the story they believe as the truth, the reason for out existence.

Even after this realization, there was a lot of black periods in the history of church. Like fighting against scientists and Teaching, the use of condoms are immoral etc. But church understood the story base of Bible and its purpose. But they couldn’t accept all the intellectual findings they have done on the religion. Because they realized that most of the people following Christianity are living in the hope of an achievement after life. If all of a sudden they realize that those were just stories made for human existence by the human morality, they wouldn’t be able to understand it and it will only result in the over all collapse of the civilizations.

So they continued with a new edited version of story which again had the main purpose of improving the lives of common people. But the truth is that, even that didn’t work out either, a lot of people were misleaded by the books, ended up in heavier evil.

Seeing this, Mohammed (a person or a group of intellectuals) realize the need for making the same story in a different way. They took time on each words, considering how those can be misleaded or contradicts. This gives an illusion that, Quran is perfect. What he did was, re-writing the same story of bible, so that, no one can question the story. He mentioned the things he was sure of and he mentioned others briefly that those line can be twisted in any direction according to the advancements of human discoveries. He saw the disadvantages of extended hope given by Jesus’ forgiveness principle, thereby removing the forgiving part from the GOD. He wanted the religion to spread like Christianity, so he made a strong pact to disturb the mind of weak people, so that they will come to the book with the fear of a holy power. What he said was considered as foolishness on his time, giving an idea that he was illiterate. And this illiteracy is also used to project it as a miracle. The same used in stories of Jesus.

Quran also has a lot of lines for the protection of the religion, Islam, and its propagation. It clearly defines rules for the existence of Islam. It was framed such a way that any one who believed will clearly do what ever the book does.

    But, Is Quran perfect?

Its not the lines, theories or the meaning, which makes a book perfect, But perfection is based on the result. Every religions including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism etc are made for a purpose. Look around see weather its serving its purpose in the same way the founders of the religion had expected. Its the same way how morality is defined, it shouldn’t be considered immoral based on what you do, but it should be considered as immoral considering the outcome of what you do.

If any thing, made for a purpose, doesn’t serve its purpose, it contradicts its own idea, colliding the idea of itself in it.

For a common person, who is not so intellectual, a religion is needed to provide him hope for his existence. Because if you cant understand the purpose of our existence, hope is an unavoidable requirement for the survival. Every people who made up the religion knew one thing for clear that the eternal happiness of life is the hope for existence and this eternal happiness can be achieved only by giving. You can see these are the punch lines of every religion. Giving out joy, giving out money, giving out help, ( all these are mentioned as sacrifice).

Considering the story of Jesus you can tell that the whole story has resemblance with the Horus god of Egypt. This shows the formation of the story was based on the information’s these Gypsy’s used to propagate throughout their journey.

The moment you say Jesus is a hoax, there goes Quran, because the whole chapter of Mary in Quran will be pointless. The similarity of Islam and Christianity and Jewish, shows the clear idea that, Islamic idea came from those who questioned the story of Jesus being GOD.

But look around the positive side of the religion. There are a lot of common people helping the human race, doing good things just by following the doctrines of religions. Consider, what will happen if I prove all the religions and the holy books are hoax? How will it affect the society?

The common people, who are doing these because of their hope, looses their hope right away and if everyone looses their hope, it be the fall of human race which cannot be recovered again. And teaching the truth and human morals for the existence which will only lead them to catastrophe.

In a religious point of view you can see the same destructions. You can see the religious explanation of this, as ‘god’s punishment when they don’t go by gods command’, but in turn, if you look at it, its just a simple logic. Consider the condition we have now, people believing in religions, even though different religions, with the hope of an after life happiness, which can be obtained by sacrificing for some one else. Now, if we go against human morality, and do human cloning, artificial synthesis of human stem cells, every one will loose the faith in religion as all the religions point out that GOD is the only one who can create. This will lead people, surging for immoral things, which they always avoided because of the religious rules. Societies will collide by itself at that moment if everyone’s beliefs were proven wrong.

So, even though religion is useless for the people who can understand the human morals by themselves, u need to protect every religions for the protection of human race.

You can see that is the best thing Arab’s did they never tried to translate any single sentence in Quran. They preserved it for ever in its original language Arabic, and they don’t accept any translated versions, or any edited forms to be called as Quran.

But it wont help either. Look at the Catholic church they had this stand once and they changed understanding the purpose of religion is fading away. If without the human morality we allow the artificial synthesis of human stem cell, existence of all the religious books are going to be in vain. Resulting a huge collapse of human race.

People who are defending their on religious books by pointing out errors in others, should understand that, if you want to find error, you will find it anywhere you look. You can easily convince yourself that they are errors, but try to see the things which are mentioned in every books. You will understand the human morals easily. If you happen to read Bible, Quran or Gita you should read it with an open mind, you should not be looking for flaws but it should be for the good things. whichever be the book, if you can find at-least 1% truth in it, you should take it rejecting the remaining 99%, but just because of the flaws you should not reject the whole book.

These are just my point of view on the truth. I believe in a GOD, because of the undeniable fact that there exist a creator, and as an answer to the questions which I cannot answer. But not in the man-made GOD which, as per religions, is going to throw me fireballs after my death.

    2. @ jasim: If Quran was written by god many claim. It would’ve been written in a way that it cannot be misinterpreted. But look around and see.. Its not the theory makes a book perfect. but its the result of that theory after applied practical. There is the failure of the Quran.

    3. @Avant – I think that just calling the quran a failure because its “misinterpreted” by some people is not really logical. That I think is the failure of the people and not the quran.

Tho following is a verse from the quran and a detailed explanation about it that I got from here – http://www.quranenglish.com/tafheem_quran/067.htm . I think this clears up a lot:

(67:23) Say: “He it is Who has brought you into being, and has given you hearing and sight, and has given you hearts to think and understand. How seldom do you give thanks!” *33

*33 That is, “Allah had made you men, not cattle. You were not meant to follow blindly whatever error and deviation you found prevailing in the world, without considering for a moment whether the way you had adopted was right or wrong. You had not been given these ears that you may refuse to listen to the one who tries to distinguish the right from the wrong for you, and may persist in whatever false notions you already had in your mind; you had not been given these eyes that you may follow others like the blind and may not bother to see whether the signs scattered around you in the world testified to the Unity of God, which the Messenger of God is preaching, or whether the system of the universe is Godless, or is being run by many, gods simultaneously. Likewise, you had also not been given this knowledge and intelligence that you may give up thinking and understanding to others and may adopt every crooked way that was enforced by somebody in the world, and may not use your own intellect to see whether it was right or wrong. Allah had blessed you with knowledge and intelligence, sight and hearing, so that you may recognize the truth, but you are being ungrateful to Him in that you are employing these faculties for every other object than the one for which these had been granted.” (For further explanation, see E.N.’s 72, 73 of AnNaml E.N.’s 75, 76 of AI-Mu’minun, E.N.’s 17, 18 of As-Sajdah, E.N. 31 of AI-Ahqaf).

    4. what ever written in quran or bible or any other religious books are meant for a purpose. Living of life with human moral. where as human moral can be defined as anything which aid the succession of human race!
Look around and see whether its doing its purpose?
Im not telling religion is useless. it is really useful for a common person to do right with a godly story supporting it. but it cause harm when an intellectual person start questioning it. It can cause the real evil when someone find that the whole story was a hoax.
If a religion who’s purpose for a better living is used to fight against societies with different views. Its whole idea collides in itself!

    5. Uncivilized people would never have thought about the necessity of peaceful co-existence. Rather than using their brain, they might have followed their instincts..Their instinct told them to live in a society, so they began to live in large groups..Your opinion that the uncivilized people created the concept of god, the weird story, to sustain the peaceful social living, I think, is nonsensical and wrong. Seeing the unexplainable phenomena happening in their surroundings, they normally might have thought of a supreme power, and hence the idea of God was germinated..

    6. @tomz: I totally agree with you point.. that’s the moment when they created god..
But religion is the one who changed the god into a manly figure.. and they used this GOD for common people, that they will be in a moral path for the continuation of the human race in the fear of this Manly GOD..

    8. Epicurus (300 B.C. Greek philosopher, I honestly believe that the ancient Greeks were the pinnacle of human civilization) formulated the Epicurean paradox and it goes something like this:

If god is willing to prevent evil, but is not able t…o, then he is not omnipotent.
If he is able, but not willing, then he is malevolent.
If he is both able and willing, then whence cometh evil?
If he is neither able nor willing, then why call him god?

Of, course if you remove the emphasis that god is not perfect, just more perfect than humans, then you can easily rationalise the presence of evil. And the free will argument is thrown out the door because if god intervenes in any way, it’s not really free will (and if it’s all part of a plan, then free will is just an illusion to give us a sense of control over our situation/circumstance and subsequent consequences of us exercising that free will). Then it becomes sort of like Buddhism or Jainism where we have the choice to overcome evil, and therefore, we’re all gods. Then the moral of the story is just to live life to best of our ability. Then, like you, following the examples of great people like Gandhi not just betters our lives, but the lives of those around us. And that, I think, is tantamount to not just our existence, but also our survival as a species.

It is impossible to live a pleasant life without living wisely and well and justly, and it is impossible to live wisely and well and justly without living a pleasant life. :)

    9. @Avant- If you want to comment on a book irrespective Quran, bible or any, you have an epistemic duty. You have to know atleast what it says. Problem here is you know quran from here and there. And endup by saying ‘it is the failure of quran’. Really absurd.

    10. its not about analyzing.. quran or its verses…
Any theory is true not because of it cannot be proved wrong.. but its the the practical output which make it truth. when the theory applies,…
A perfect socialism is moral.. but look at china.. that’s what happens when its applied into a varied human race..
The same way.. all the verses in quran are for a better living.
But look around and is it happening the way Mohamed dreamed of…

    11. watched bill maher’s show, it was awesome. it gives an insight to different religious practices all over the world in a fun point of view. the funniest which i felt among them was the practices of mormons. if you could look into each relig…ion in a business point of view, you will find something interesting. it is called the word “forgiveness”. it is the best marketing strategy of any religion. each one want to show others that their God is the most forgiving. that point attracts the people into that religion. not even a single human in this world would have thought about avoiding sins from his life. everyone loves to do sin. they just want to know if their god is willing to forgive them or not, or f they are having any loopholes to justify their sins. :) after getting converted into that religion, the next thing which he does is, to go thru the whole book and sort out the good deeds and the bad ones. every religion says that at the judgment day god will be weighing his good deeds and bad deeds for letting him in heaven. so even believers are tempted to do sins. they might do 60% of good things and 40% sins just to make sure that they are on safer side…

    12. Dear Avant, You are on the strong point of view that the idiology of the world living circumstances to evaluate the consistancy of the religions. No one can show you a real god to prove for the religious evidence.therefor, when you say that the idea is good, but people /worshipors are not good enough.there is the truth inside. If every body showing the same ethics and civilized manner, there is no one need to be a messenger of the god.i think , we are in the era of confution. you can’t judge the world truth by the behavior of the people.but when you go to the deep side of the universal truth, you could find a thread of the light.try that.

    13. As with all tall claims and hypotheses, I normally just say : “Prove it!”

(But, nobody really wants to play dice with the human race’s survival, do they?)

      I found the post amusing,
but I think that the argument can be boiled down to

“Quick death by anarchy after the disapperance of religion
      VS
Slow painful wretched decay via intolerance according to the current timeline”

So, who here is a fan of Cancer? :D
