Well, anyways, in India, its more for society than companionship or sexual needs or anything else. But the basic idea was companionship, hence all that Sati-savithri stuff. But now its all for society. However, my main suggestion to all is that if you are not ready to take the responsibility of the other person (Sometimes, the whole family of the partner), please dont get into such a relationship. I like to listen more than talk most of the time :) It is lovely, the way you find the perfect excuse for us to get married!! Companionship is the only reason we really need to get married.
