Well, anyways, in India, its more for society than companionship or sexual needs or anything else. But the basic idea was companionship, hence all that Sati-savithri stuff.

But now its all for society. However, my main suggestion to all is that if you are not ready to take the responsibility of the other person (Sometimes, the whole family of the partner), please dont get into such a relationship.

To me marriage is a way to have companionship for life long. That does not need anyone to satisfy any one else, except yourself.</description>

		<description>I dont agree with this point. What about people who get married, but their partner leaves them some or the other? Dont they need companionship for life? They could get over and re-marry.</description>

		<description>This is perhaps one of the only few series on KJ that has kept my interest sustained for this long and I am sorry I did not comment earlier. I like to listen more than talk most of the time :) 

It is lovely, the way you find the perfect excuse for us to get married!! Companionship is the only reason we really need to get married.</description>
