Yesterday night I was attending a press conference and heard from a reporter that a nursing student committed suicide by jumping from a building. I enquired about the college, unfortunately it is a private institution. The first thought that came to my mind is the stupid political statements and violent protests that Kerala is going to witness for the next 2 weeks.

Today morning, the newspaper came and the following are some of the responses.

Enquiry has to happen and police has to come up with some explanation. Why do a strike before that ? Cant we give the police at least 24 hrs.

BJP was very quick to react. If such swiftness and passion were shown for something else, Kerala would have been a paradise.

Private management is torturing the students and they are not able to study. Government colleges were known for their cruel ragging techniques, nothing to be said about that.

Who are these guys ? Super police ? How did they find out the reason, and that too within a few hours. If these guys are so fast and efficient, why do we need a slow and inefficient police ?

Anyways these fellows are above the law, they forcefully enter police stations, beat up policemen and free their people from there. May be we should let them be the police.
