Pseudo Animal Lovers And Their Threats Against Kerala

June 13, 2009 by Kenney Jacob

    Author: Kenney Jacob

Hi, I am Kenney Jacob, love blogging about Education, Media hypocrisy and Social Issues.

My mom is a veterinary doctor and I have come across many sorts of animal lovers. Some adopt animals, some take care of them and some just sympathize. These are the genuine kinds. Then there is another segment, the pseudo animal lovers who are jobless people looking for some attention. They also can be tolerated.

Then there is another kind, the kind with serious vested interests. Check out this campaign against Kerala. Some idiot from Delhi has come up with a few pictures and videos of violence against animals. Look at the way he has manipulated them to create a campaign against Kerala Tourism. Lets examine a few lines from his campaign.

“Kerala has been BRUTALLY Killings, Dogs, Turtles, Rabbits, Elephants and all animals for a long time now.”

Kerala has been Killing ? What do you mean by Kerala ? We are 3.2 million strong and all of us are into killing ?

“The barbarism with which the people, government and everybody is KILLING, SKINNING ALIVE & TORTURING the poor animals is indescribable.”

Everybody is killing, skinning alive and torturing ? Are you trying to suggest that Kerala is a butcher land ? If you want to see butcher land check the following link

    Brutal Images of Campus Violence

What have you done to prevent such cruel incidents ? Do you even care for human beings ?

“This PETITION AIMS AT “BOYCOTTING” KERALA by appealing to all countries and their citizens not to visit Kerala as a TOURIST, till all this stops.”

Why boycott Kerala ? How about boycotting entire India ? Why is this fellow bend upon campaigning against Kerala in particular ? Is this the only place where dogs are killed ?

“This petition would be submitted to the :

    1) Ministry of Tourism
    2) State Government of Kerala
    3) Central government of India

and other authorities to let them know that KERALA’S MAIN SOURCE OF REVENUE, i.e. TOURISM INDUSTRY is being targeted by the people of this world.”

Sounds like a threat to me. And see the usage of the word Tourism industry. I seriously doubt the petitioners motivation in creating this campaign against Kerala Tourism.

“Please remember if tourism comes down in Kerala, the whole state economy is affected severely.”

With these sentences I am pretty much sure that his motivation is not love for the animals. He wants Kerala economy to be affected. He wants to kill a legitimate industry which feeds many families.

How dare this Delhiwala conspire openly against Kerala and its tourism industry. Lets not forget the Sun Flower oil lobby which spread lies about coconut oil. We will never forget/forgive the North Indian lobby whose influence has prevented the government from recognizing coconut as an “oil producing seed”.

Maybe its time that we bloggers from Kerala united against these people with vested interests who wants to damage our state and our economy. If you are interested do email me.

    2. @ ashwin What else to do but listen to Kenny’s advice and generalise all “North Indian” as delhiwala’s and biharis and lead triade against north indians. Next we lead campaigns against every other state till we “Kerala” becomes and independent country .

      Right Kenny?

    3. @jp, LOL!!!

I think not. But guess Kenney cannot stand stupidity in campaigns like the one mentioned above. Same case as that black-something womens right campaign sometime back…oops…am not trying to compare women with dogs..but you get the point ;)

    4. before people come too the point about the ‘brutal’ killings of dogs, first know that it is the stray dogs that are being killed…

stray dogs present a big threat.
      1) If they are infected with rabies, you know what will happen

      2) Last year I have read in the paper about stray dogs attacking small children and even killing them

      3) The hindrence they cause to vehicles. My friend almost died from an accident when a dog jumped across the road. his bike was heavily damaged and had he not been wearing a helmet, he was a sure goner

and regarding the matter of kerala tourism, do u think one silly petition like that would affect kerala tourism???

Wow man you found out my hidden agenda, you are too clever… just like the punjabis, the tamilians and the north eastern rebels, I also want my state to be free… free some the exploitation, the lobbying and the harassment. Anything wrong in that ?

Read history and you will see that we have never asked for independence from India. We are a state which over threw its ruler and voluntarily joined India. Maybe thats why we are being treated as second class citizens.

We are a very peaceful state, we bring in a lot of foreign currency, our daughters serve you in most of the hospitals, none of us travel in a train without tickets.. despite all of this we have to beg for getting one more train.

      Coming back to the topic

      @ashwin
What we should do is we need to bring out these topics from the list of untouchable topics. We must become comfortable with demanding what we need. Our 20 MPs must unite and say, if we dont get this this and that, we will withdraw support.

    6. KJ, going through those comments in that site I think this one is going to hurt the state. Which bloody dickhead got this wild imagination of such deeds here? Hallucinating blaggard. :X

well, what you want us to do?

We need to mobilise kerala bloggers to write posts against their anti kerala campaign and make them withdraw the campaign against Kerala Tourism and then apologize to the people of Kerala.

They can protect the animals, but that should not be used to kill an industry that is feeding many souls in Kerala.

    9. Is this a case of Northie not knowing anything about the South? A kind of freakish racism (hey asshole, we are in the same country)? Us ‘Madrasis” (as I have been labeled far too many times for my taste) are so backwards! Maybe it’s all the coconut oil we consume and or apply to our hair!

I think it’s a desperate case of some moron crying for attention and his 15 minutes of fame. Ignore the SOB. He isn’t worth it. If I am not mistaken, Keralites have more pets than most states (atleast cats & dogs) in India.

    10. The guy to started the petition is having some kinda propaganda.
All the 13000 people who signed it are either from out of Kerala or are idiots inside kerala.

    11. wat does tat stupid delhiwala know about kerala?? he is such an idot…he should come to kerala and realize the real situation i.e d stray dogs are killed and not killing or showing cruelty against pets…he is just “a piece of crap”…

      Comment by kannan devarajan — June 13, 2009 @ 11:03 pm

    12. Okay Rishi point taken. we do have programs in Kerala to scientifically control the population of stray dogs at present. Don’t worry C.F.A.R relax. Let the tourists come in the meanwhile.

But then since u have taken up the job of ‘cleaning up’ kerala. Just thought I’d give a glimpse of your own ‘backyard’. Read the following article
      http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/jun/09delhi.htm

“As many as 53,244 criminal cases, including 467 murders, 581 rapes, 1,764 dacoity and other heinous crimes, were registered in Delhi during the year.”
While we are busy cracking our animal rights program why don’t you get cracking on the human rights problem in your backyard.

If u want to stop tourism in kerala for the killing of dogs, what do u propose be done for the ‘situation’ in Delhi? Shall we shift the the national capital to trivandrum or chennai :-)

India has got problems bro a lot of problems… everywhere… We need to be more mature in tackling it… I think thats the point all the people here are trying to tell you. Do let us all know when u grow up… Then we’ll talk.

why are you worried about some fool trying to ruin some business because of personal issues, when you should be thinking about what is said there… are these things really happening in kerala….
I have been always aware of the torture of elephants…
don’t you feel there is a need for proper regulation?

    15. I’ve come from a farm and I’ve seen the disconnect of the city dwelling people from nature. The only nature that they know are from documentaries and pictures and the guided trips that they make to safe areas of the national parks.

There is an alternative reality which has actually been around for thousands of years. The life in a farm in itself is a mingling with nature that these people can never do. Remember, they will be saying “eeewwwwwwwww” and crawl back in disgust every time they see a worm or cow dung and will be scared to death everytime they see a snake.

The preaching and campaigns from these people make no sense because they have no idea what is happening in real life connected to nature.

Anyway, the campaign above seems like some one with a vested interest in attracting tourism that could go to Kerala away from it.

    16. @kenny

My issue here is not with the post itself but trying to make it as an “North Indian” VS Keralite issue.

Ur comment reeks of regionalism. The petion was someone’s call of his point of view. May be right according to him may be not. I saw u argue in depth about freedom of speech and getting ur views across in a previous post. where is all that chivalary gone. If you geniuenely feel about the cause , fight it but dont slot it as a reginal issue.

There are multiple petions , groups, orkut / facebook groups which are for India Bashing. Have fought out there? Those are real issues to fight on. Let us think as indians first.

Dis u really think this one online petition would wreck the tourism industry and economy of kerala. COme one, give us a break. If we wanna save tourism in this state let us fight those hartals which puts fear into minds of tourists , the freaks who look at every tourist as a sex object and tries to molest them , those unscrouplous traders and resorts who try to rip off tourists.

I know kerala , its history and its heritage well. I am a malayalee and an proud one at that . I am someone who left my enterprise and a a life abroad to relocate back to kerala. But i dont beloive we will surge ahead by just playing the suffesring malayalee tag.

Well all those ills you mentioned that kerela is suffering from , althought i take those with a pinch of salt , but see who is responsible for it. The North indians, people from other states or the rascal called MP’s and MLA’s whom we have elected time and again. Lead a triade against them.

I saw some of your comments as diversionary and a milder form of what Raj Thackeray blurts out. Its dangerous. Saw some of the same sentiments in the post on HOLI , branding it as a north indian and not a hindu festival.

Kerla needs spirited men to change its destiny , but lets look inward first before we point fingers at others or whip up regional sentiments.

    18. I think this is the apt time to protest against “gosai’s”.There are some north indian lobbies working against the interests of our poor malayalies.
Thanks Kenny. This is relevant today.By the by what about our next “Blog camp 2009″? I am eagarly waiting for the camp.

    19. @Sooraj
      Screw You….

      @Jayapradeep
I have never made this issue a north Vs south one. But I have mentioned the coconut issue, which is plain truth and is the result of the sunflower lobby, which is primarily from north india.

And about freedom of speech, that fellow can campaign against killing dogs, that is perfectly fine. But making that issue an alibi to attack the tourism industry is not acceptable. Why is he particularly interested in targeting the tourism industry which has got no relevance to the issue.

So far we have not played the suffering malayalee tag, we have been fighting the system on our own, meanwhile we have all sorts of regional issues in every other state. We have been patriotic…. not like the tamilians, not like the kannadikas, not like the maharashtrians or even the punjabis. Whats wrong if I say that out loud ? We have accepted every culture that came to kerala…… and may be thats one reason we have progressed so much even with out much help from the centre.

We are partially responsible for our state…. and I admit that. But that wont prevent me from pointing out the exploitation. Look how crowded our trains are ? What do you have to say about the coconut issue , Just a token issue to debate.

And about holi I still maintain my stand. Its a north indian festival, which we accepted just like every other foriegn tradition we accepted. we are a bunch of receptive people. Will the maharashtrians ever celebrate onam ? And that holi post was intended to show the double standards shown by some organisations when they protest against valentines day.

    20. I think the best way to fight it, is to ignore it.

Am hearing about it for the first time from your blog and that shows the petition hasnt been any popular, which means people doesnt see any value in content.

Also arguement that Kerala tourism will suffer coz of animal butchering is stupid. If so, none would ever travel to countries like China where people eat dogs, ryt ?

Let’s not unnecessarily promote some pervert’s blogpost through our blogs. Ignore him.

      Comment by Startonomics — June 14, 2009 @ 11:24 am

    21. There are a number of approaches we could take.

#1 Just don’t care and don’t listen that way not to contribute to any attention this petition could get(this might not work in this special case)

#2 Create a counter petition detailing the vested interests, and false information on this petition

But please don’t build a north Vs south conspiracy theory. It is just a people vs people case, most of the time even though unconsciously we make use of religion and ethnicity to get our ideas propagated, let us not do it this time.

Unless its clear and present danger you don’t have to do anything much and trust me, this guy ain’t gonna make any significant dent on whatever he wishes to. But its true what they say, there’re more animal lovers than people lovers. No one really gives a damn how many die in Kashmir or Afghanistan or Iraq.

      Comment by Sudhir — July 2, 2009 @ 9:59 am

    27. Kerala has been wrongly accused… Though these particularly strong comments can’t be justified, I can’t help thinking that maybe the attention has digressed from the actual point the passage is trying to convey.
The issue in the post is about the barbarism involved in controlling stray dog population.. Instead of getting agitated with comments on regionalism, shouldn’t we be voicing out the necessity for effective implementation of the ABC programme? Just because cruelty to animals happens in all parts of the world and all over India, it can’t be ignored or pushed aside.

I don’t know what this comment means. Maybe we should wait until the last human on earth is released and liberated before we turn to the animals. Meanwhile we should just watch those dogs being illtreated and yawn.. coz the humans aren’t saved yet.. He is the real pseudo- humanitarian

    30. Please boycott Kerala for its dismal animal abuse history. A global campaign has been launched to convince the US State Department also. Behind the beauty of lush green nature, thrives the savage uncivilized barbaric psyche. Says one of the State’s best known writers, Paul Zacharia. “Where in the world is the elephant worst treated? The honest and straight answer is Kerala”. Kerala also has India’s highest suicides, drunkards, sexual perverts, and mentally deranged. Claim to be Civilized!!!
