What does this say about us ?
What does this say about the social (sexual health) status in Kerala ?
Shouldn’t we be worried about this ?

It is a clean evidence which shows that majority of teenagers in Kerala are now, Not interested in real girls and live sex !!!
Cyber Sex is an addiction and it is very dangerous.
Have a look at some links related:

Let me guess… Who is the reason for the raise in the number of Internet Porn Addicts… ?
Comment by Ben Jacob — June 11, 2009 @ 5:36 pm
Come on!!! no, it says nothing about Kerala’s social status…
It is just that most A grade movies are branded as ‘Mallu’ that, non-mallus find it more interesting to watch mallu or kerala branded content..
it does NOT suggest anything about Keralite behaviour..

Comment by Rubin Geo Varghese — June 11, 2009 @ 5:50 pm
most of these searches r done by non-keralites…
atleast thts wat i think..
Comment by Praveen — June 11, 2009 @ 6:11 pm
i think more than 50% of this search is done by non keralites…
in other states malayalam movies are often thought of as shakeela films. i once saw a comment in bollywoodhungama’s forums. the comment was something like this…
“I never knew Bhool Bhulaiya was the remake of a malayalam film. I thought mallu films are those softporn pictures done by shakeela and co. I was really surprised to know that almost all Priyadarshan’s hit movies are remakes of malayalam films”
So what people do is tag BGrade clips as mallu no matter what language it is. that is y we see this kind of search results

I noticed this. if you search for YOung Kerala. you get young kerala girls.
think kerala women are found sexy by other states. Its not something of our doing. its other’s perception about us.
good or bad.

@above
I totally agree with you two.I am now living at chennai and my roommate(a chennaaite) thinks prostitution is very common n kerala. He used to watch pron too much when he was in college and he said most of the “on deamnd” stuff was malayali productions.I was very much offended by his views and i had no idea how to counter his argument. But now i understand that it was not his personal view but view held by many people here in chennai.
And though people wont talk about this until you get close enough to them(as it happend with my roommate),surely this bad reputation exists.
Comment by Dhanesh — June 11, 2009 @ 9:54 pm
hehe…i think the searches are done predoinantly by us mallu’s itself and it shows we are good with Permutations and combinations …”Mallu Masala Bed Scene”,”Mallu Hot Masala Bed Scene”,”Mallu Masala hot Bed Scene”, LOL !!

Are you guys trying to suggest that non keralites think of us as sex maniacs ?
Comment by Kenney Jacob — June 12, 2009 @ 8:00 am
@ kenney
exactly.. non keralites think of us as sex maniacs… the perception is most of the indian xxx stuff comes from down south (kerala)…
Comment by Varun Anand — June 12, 2009 @ 12:06 pm
I disagree with most of you.. I do not see any reason for non Keralites to look for Kerala porn (unless ofcourse I have missed some good porn while i was der).. It is a point that Kerala (infact many parts of India) are sexually perverted. This is no fault of the youth, it comes from the social taboo we have developed towards sex, concept of girlfriends etc…
We are happy to accept everything western and bollywood in nature, but we ourselves as a society have not evolved very much. I am hoping the next generation will come around the corner and make a big change.. I look forward to that modern, empowered Kerala..

Very true. Real sex among teenagers should be promoted and thereby saving them from the perils of cyber sex addiction. Amen.
Comment by Domestic Avalanche — June 12, 2009 @ 7:33 pm
^^ Domestic Avalanche, thats a cool idea. Why dont we use Kenny’s blog to promote this concept????
Jokes apart, this is indeed distressing. Search for ‘mallu’ in Google and you’d end up with all sorts of ‘soft’ things. The stereotype of a Keralite outside the state is so miserable, especially up North. Stereotypism is a social disease and it cannot be eradicated. I was appaled to see even the educated North Indians carrying absurd concepts about Kerala girls and women.
Listen to what one Bihari dude found out: “In Kerala its always woman-on-top position during sex because Kerala women are more educated and independent.” I was aghast and confused by this relation between education and sexual positions and ended up arguing with the fellow. But he was very adamant on his viewpoint and revealed that it is a well known fact in his state!
So howzaat guys?

Interestingly, there is this reporter/columnist for CNET called Molly Wood.
When she tried the newly launched Bing search and searched her name, the search engine thinks the pictures are not safe for work NSFW.
She attributes that to some obscure porn actress, but I think our Mollywood has something to do with it.
Check it out

It also means that if you can deftly put up the words “kerala sex housewife etc” in a web page ,you will get tremendous web traffic. I have seen this ploy by some of the SEO guys.
Comment by vu2swx — June 21, 2009 @ 4:53 pm
@kenney
Just curios. How much traffic you get from this post. ?
Comment by vu2swx — June 21, 2009 @ 5:37 pm
