Grace in sports :- Does it have a better illustration than Roger Federer? The Swiss player plays such heavenly  tennis that I sometimes pinch myself to check whether I am dreaming. Can poetry be etched on clay as Roger did today?. How the sands of time stop and mere mortals only hope. Facts and Figures apart, can’ t you see art in motion ? Those deft touches with those rackets, like Michelangelo with a chisel on a marble. Manna for the eyes what more can we expect? Its people like him that makes me believe  God can create miracles. Keep’em coming. I definitely pray for more. Nirvana seeing tennis Why not if it is Roger Federer.

    1. Absolutely great news. As he himself has said, we never have to hear about him not winning a Frech.

However, it lacks a little bit of the luster as his nemesis Nadal was not around in the finals, which would have made it more speacial. Remember when Nadal finally won Wimbledon? Were it been against Andy Roddick or someone, it would not have been as great.

On the other hand, he would still have been hailed as one of the greatest players ever to have entered a tennis court even if he hadn’t won the at Rolland Garros. Pete Samprass did not, but still that doesn’t make him a lesser legend.

Guys… I’ve been lucky enough to watch the wee end of Jimmy Connors, Edburg etc and then the amazing era of Samprass and Agassi. There have been a lull in Men’s tennis after that and now it is back. We are in a golden age of Tennis and we’ll tell our grandchildren how we watched the great Federer and Nadal sweat it out in the Grandslam Finals.
