It is truly unfortunate... But quality levels have dropped big time in the Computer H/W Industry. The pressure of competition is making people think of Innovative (Read cost cutting) Ideas to bring down the price of the products...

Batteries and Chargers are covered for not more than 3 months. As for burn outs - they are never covered under warranty! The reason the Fuse migh not have burned out - was cause the earthing might not be proper...I cant think of anything else. I would rather advice you to go an buy a generic charger with similar specs as the original (Make sure the Ah and V out put are almost the same) That should do the job. As for your Battery - Unfortunately this is not only a problem with Lenovo. I have seen similar problems with other brands as well. The controller board inside might be messed up with a few cell's of battery. You can try and take it to one of these generic service centers and try and get the whole thing re-packed (though this might not look neat at all...) and the controller board checked!

well best of luck...

The charger alone might set u back upto 6k if I'm not mistaken...They usually do not replace them for burns arising out of lightning, voltage fluctuations, acts of god and the like :)
