Lok Sabha Elections and Some Thoughts

Hi, I am Kenney Jacob, love blogging about Education, Media hypocrisy and Social Issues.

I am forced to write these after having seen some of the most disgusting pre-election stunts from the BJP and communist party and especially the BJP. Beating up girls, Advani’s online campaign, the ram temple issue (which surfaces only before elections) and the idiotic and irresponsible stand taken by the communists are going to make the coming lok sabha elections really interesting.

This time there is only one force that works against the congress, the anti-incumbency factor. Congress has done a decent job with everything else. At least Kerala has got a a minister and that too a very powerful one.

I must admit I am a fan of Sonia Gandhi. I really don’t care whether she is from Italy or not. I loved the way she threw away the throne shutting up the entire “foreigner” campaign from the BJP. Does it make any difference Sonia (Italy) ruling or Advani (Pakistan) ruling.

Many in congress party are corrupted, and the same is true with BJP also. The problem with BJP is that they are intimidating every non Hindu. I never had so much of realization that I belong to Christian community. Not even 10 years of bible school could make me realize the difference. But a few years of sangh parivar activity did it. Maybe that’s what they also want.

BJP has done enough damage to itself. If the congress can stop their internal fights and hold it together they can win this election. I would love to see this country flourish under a capable leadership.

    2. i am not a fan of any political party… but i admire sonia gandhi…

i remember, when some terrorist attack had happened in india (dont remember which one as there hav been quite a few in recent years), all parties were pointing fingers at others. this is when she said ‘stop pointing fingers n lets work together to straighten out the mess’

when it comes to BJP, i trust them very little. with aging grandfathers as their PM candidates (who find no other work @ home and take an hour to walk 100 metres) and their so called hindutva policy makes me feel sick. all their so called agenda’s are spoken about only 2-3 months before elections nd r silenced 1 week after elections.

coming to communist party, the result is for all to see. all the politicians are occupied with internal fights that they find too little time for us.

    3. I am not much into politics but just one issue Advani ( Pakistan) is a incorrect statement. When Advani was born it was India, like many other Indians who have migrated from that part India because it was to be allocated for the creation of a new country Pakistan. Pakistan was born on Aug 14th 1947, any person born before that is an Indian

    5. Don’t know what happens after the polls…….with the state election trends so far both the parties are hand in hand with a slight edge to the congress for pay revision, farmers debt relief, fuel price cuts, falling inflation…………..for the bjp they have problems like kalyan singh, umabharti etc fighting against them………..with india inc batting for modi would not make advani comfortable…he hopes for ram temple issue, national security and upa going soft against terrorism…………..communists are planning to do a show they have done in 2004 but can’t say they will get that much seats in bengal and kerala after nandigram and lavalin………..
the greatest possibility is a hung assembly with crooks with no national perspective like mulayam or mayavati playing kingmakers which is a distant possibility………………Karnunanidhi might jump out of upa if some one else is going to form the government……that man hates sitting in the opposition…………..

    6. @Njan

Do I need to elaborate on the stupid things that the communist party has been doing here ?

Readers please join in. Ill prepare a post later.

I also was not very fond of the idea of a Italian women becoming the prime minister. But she performs, and too far far better than any other politician in India.

      @Anuj
The point is that it really dont matter who is ruling your country, all that matters is is it good for the country or not. Advani and Sonia are equal entities if you consider their place of birth alone.
