I came across this pretty interesting startup – MoneyVidya.com (
www.moneyvidya.com). Its basically a networking community for people who are interested in the stock market. People can stock stock picks quite easily and then are largely rated on the performance of their picks in terms of return, risk.
A ton of money has been lost in the current market, and a lot could have probably been avoided if people didn’t follow senseless stock tips from people who hadn’t got a track record. Like the MoneyVidya.com guys say… there are a lot of people that call themselves experts, including the ones we see on TV… but how many of them are really experts?
That’s where
MoneyVidya.com’s rating system comes in. Very soon as somebody makes a pick.. they have a rating given to them. So you immediately know whose advice to follow.
There are also tons of other great social features on the site… anybody can create polls, write blog posts, ask questions, and start a discussion. It also has useful research tools such as market summary, flex charts, and compare companies….
Would be interesting to see though how they make money out of this website…
All a pretty promising, easy to use website with a lot of features, really very easy to navigate and use… Check it out!!!
MoneyVidya’s interface is clean and simple. From the homepage itself it is clear that the website is about sharing Stock Picks, and that they’ve developed an objective rating system based on risk and return that helps you find guys who are good at pickings stocks.
The dashboard very clearly lays out everything to do with you on MoneyVidya.com. You can see all your latest picks, and the polls, discussions and Q&As that you’ve participated in. If you want you can send people private messages through the mail centre.
Making picks are easy. All you have to do is provide the name of the stock, whether you are a ‘buy’ or a ’sell’ and for how long. They’ve got a space for you to provide some analysis – which is in line with them wanting to be more of a technically / fundamentally oriented website.
You can check who the top members are on the website. Their rating and ranking algorithm seems quite complicated – but I can say this it seems to be fair, anyway I guess this also adds an element of competition to the portal.

The site truly fills the void when it comes to having a good Stock Picking Site on the Internet.
The Site has all the options to derive a unbiased community sentiment when it comes to investment strategy in the Stock Market.I am sure it will only grow better with more users contributing.
