Unfortunately there is no existence for a democratic nation without politics. We have chosen the best way of people's administration rather than autocratic ways. But the people who chose to enter the system have 'service' as the last word in their agenda.

To think of it, I believe ours is much more stable than the kind of leadership we see in our neighbouring countries including China. As you said, a motivated and patriotic youth is what this country needs and Mumbai 26/11 has triggered the kind of spark they needed.

Say ppl who have commanded over the nation like Ratan Tata or Narayana Murthy join politics. How long will it take for them to form a government and be able to make some concrete decisions to guide the nation?
The issue is ppl can't directly vote for either of them because it is the legislature which selects the government. And for that, either leader will need to have 270 odd winnable candidates to have a proper say in the affairs of the state. Otherwise, join hands with the same politicians we crib about
It will be difficult for either to have a big say. Now, what can a political rookie do? If the person stays away frm the existing political community, s/he'll can kiss any chances of being part of a goverment good bye. And without any power, ppl lose interest in the person because s/he cannot fulfill their promises.
We need to change the political system in the country. Then only will anyone be actually be able to do anything productive politically for the country

Bro,

I know it's the law.. But, what I was asking was if it was fair.. And anyhow, 25 is still part of the youth community.. But, we don't see many people that age, or even below 35 sitting in powerful posts do we?

And, maybe we should have only two political parties, that is, if we must have them at all..

And, you gonna join politics?? Grr.. I think I smell an enemy.. :D

Hmm, I see a lot of rant about the politicians, but unfortunatly only 1-2 of my 500 odd chat friends is ready to get his hands dirty with politics. everyone else is just ranting about it.

About old men, its the law, you need to be 25 to stand for a MP or a MLA...given the ammount of ass, i mean footlicking...it will take a lot of time for someone to stand for it. :)

Also, why do we have this powerless government? The first person of the country has no power, but the prime minister has everything. the people elect the state party, who have no say in the national game....all elected people of the country are puppets who then elect the their best foot lickers to the powerful posts.

For the records, I do intend to join politics sometime later in life :)

Kenny,

I loaded your about page in Opera 9.24 and I got this error message at the end of the page. I could see all the data, the error was somewhere near the footer.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function akst_share_link() in /home/jail/home/kenneyjacob.com/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/copyblogger/page.php on line 14

Check that out.
Cheers..
