Tortured Little Minds

What would you do if  your son drew a picture of yours ? Will you punish him for that ? Will you send him out of the house ?

But this is exactly what happened in a school in Central Travancore. (Sorry guys, roots are in Central Travancore and that’s why I always keep getting stories from there). A 7th STD student was dismissed from the school for drawing a picture of the Principal.

I too could not digest the story first and dug in deeper. The kid was naughty and the teachers had something against him. On the day of the dismissal, one teacher declared “I wont take the class until this crap is out of my class“. Perfect words to describe a 12 year old.

So he went out and stood there. Mean while he drew a picture of the principal on the school wall and gave the credits to a girl (his No 1 Enemy) in his class. When the school authorities started questioning the girl about the picture, he went to them and said its he who drew and not the girl.

The very next day he was dismissed from the school on grounds of misconduct. Do you think this is reason enough to dismiss someone from a school, and that too a 12 year old kid. He was naughty, but that’s how some kids are.

There are many such incidents of little minds being tortured everyday in our schools. But we fail to see the lasting damage it has on these small children.

Our media has keen interest in celebrating child molestations and rape cases. But when will our reporters grow out of the kinky sensationalism and start doing some real journalism ?

Read another incident of cruelty against school children here.

    this is really shocking….

nowadays , school authorities want 100% discipline (something like military)…

what is school life without some mischief????

Anyway… the kid was too dumb for his own good.

Doing mischief never leads to trouble with authorities.

Only getting caught at that will.

I knew the difference at 12. However, പലനാള്‍ കള്ളന്‍ ഒരുനാള്‍ കുടുങ്ങും. And I got kicked out of a school once. Learned the lesson. I’ve never got caught after that.

Rubbish!!! - Its not like old days & old teachers who knew “what teaching is”! Kids are like that…they are always energetic & they keep doing sth…they dunno wats right & wats wrong!!! Its d teachers who shud be role models & teach kids how to distinguish between…

I think all teachers shud be forced to watch Aamir Khans - Tare Zameen Par!

No need to go outside Kerala- here we have a good example- Meenakshi teacher who beat her own hand for a case of stealing…& the rest u knw! STUDY FROM SUCH PEOPLE!!!

I repeat a small dialogue from Kalapani…. “Kids back is not your Footboard” (thats to all teachers)

It’s a shocker, no doubt. A child should be allowed to be naughty. It is only a representation of natural creativity.

    Kenny,

The kid needed some orientation. I think the school guys dont know how to tap the infinite potentials in each little crap there.

Its been a while kenny, how are you doing..?
