I am a big fan of English High School Movies. The kind of movies where the energy, the enthusiasm, the romance and the stupidity of the youth is portrayed. This is a list of best high school movies I have seen and the ones that I recommend you also watch.

good ones there, have seen a few like the American Pie movies, girl next door and never been kissed…

I think you should also go to the next level and include the college movies in the same vein.
Harold and Kumar goes to White Castle.

The best part of all these movies that you mentioned is that we can all relate to being stupid or careless and doing a lot of reckless stuff at school/college. If there is some fun in that, we do not see that in Malayalam movies. They need artificial comedy to succeed sometimes.
