Hi, I am Kenney Jacob, love blogging about Education, Media hypocrisy and Social Issues.

Sometimes the importance of a teacher is overrated, especially in India where we have this “respect” thing in place. Check out this video about the “Hole in the Wall” project.

May be its high time that we realised the real potential of the kids and let them have some credit for the extra learning they do everyday.

Don’t stop us from learning new things on our own, if not, appreciate.

Let’s organize a All-Kerala-Teachers-and-Principals meet and then proclain about this there with the help of this video !!

    3. We cant do away with a teacher at any stage IMO, especially at primary level.

I’ve been a teacher in the early stages of my career, and the most important role of a teacher is not to teach, but to teach how to learn…Sadly, this aspect is missing in our system and only a few gifted people are able to convert the idea into practice.

May be Graduation levels we may not need classrooms and teachers, but at lower levels we definitely cant do away with a teacher. There are more to learning than text books, and an experienced person who knows the way to mould young minds becomes inevitable…
