Media Double Standards

If you have a press tag then you can shoot any horrible scene and print it on the front page for millions to see. But if you are a normal person, then the same media calls you heartless. Now thats called corporate media double standards.

Readers Opinion :- What Should a Child Learn From His 10 Years of School Education

Recently my readers have become very active and are interacting through the blog very enthusiastically. I sometimes feel like the blog is owned by the readers rather than me because most of the comments are longer than the post itself. Also many readers are posting a lot more quality content also.

So I decide to create a section, The Readers Opinion in which Ill initiate a topic of discussion and the readers can contribute their ideas. In the end we will make a post out of all the ideas and discussion created by the readers.

So today’s topic of discussion is upto class 10. What all skills are expected from a 16 yr old when he passes his 10th standard. We can talk about formal academics, life skills, personality and physical or sporting skills.

Are we giving enough importance to social skills like meeting new people and getting to know them. Hoe much of importance we giving to team skills, leadership skills and public speaking abilities.

Are we promoting an inquisitive mentality, or are we suppressing questions ? Sometimes kids come up with the most difficult of questions. They are not afraid to questions the roots of our belief until we put restrictions on them and make some people/concepts unquestionable.

Are we promoting a healthy relationship with members of opposite sex in educational institutions ? A friend of mine who studied in a prestigious college in Chennai told me that they were not allowed to talk to girls. The situation is worse in some entrance coaching institutions in Pala.

How equipped are the students to accept criticism and failure.

And finally, why are we not worried about the physical health of students. Why is physical health and ability not a parameter in the examination system. Are we undermining the importance of physical health.

History Taught With Emotions

In our text books we give a lot of importance to the freedom struggle and the patriots who fought against the British. And many a times most of the descriptions are emotional in nature. Does this present a problem ? Should and emotions be mixed ?

History should be taught like mathematics. Provide simple facts are figures to the students. If there is a something thats is a controversy then let it remain a controversy. If there are 2 versions of a story then let the student decide which one has more probability of being the truth.

The following are some random questions that came to my mind while thinking about the  of India.

Should I consider Tippu Sultan an Indian and a patriot just because he fought the British. Should I forget the fact that he had attacked Kerala. For me he is just another King who wanted to expand his kingdom. There is no way Im gonna respect him.

The same applies to Chatrapathi Shivaji. Its sad to see ShivSena people in Kerala, while we dont have any Pazhassi Sena or Marthanda Sena here. Should we forget the fact that their counterparts wants to drive every non Maharashtrian out of Maharashtra.

Why are we not being taught the fact that India was united using force and there were a lot of struggles against the forced unification. Why are we not teaching the mistakes that our great leaders did, especially the ones we are taught to respect soo much. Eg :- Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi.

Did we had to fight the Bangladesh war, and earn another enemy ? Why did we spill the blood of our own soldiers for SriLanka, did we gain anything out of it, other than earn a few enemies.

Was Kashmir really a part of India ? Was it one of the big mistakes Nehru did ?

Who is our greatest enemy, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia ?

Why is Sir CP considered a bad person while every other stupid King in Kerala is given the image of a freedom fighter. He did more reform work in Kerala than 50 years of Independence.

And the list continues with lots of questions that I dont dare to ask.

Swamis in Blazers

I hope the Santhosh Madhavan Episode has cast the death spell of Swamis in Kerala. Atleast it will prevent new Swamis from entering the lucrative faith market. Lets forgive the big shots, the established ones. They are too connected, and too wealthy to face an investigation. The Babas and the Mathas are virtual Kings and Queens.

Now the entire media attention is on the Swamis. But there is another kind of faith sellers, the ones who come in Blazers and executive dresses. To see a real example check today’s , page 13, Trivandrum Edition. There is a full page Ad. Or check out GOD channel or the Miracle Channel. These guys are the modern version of our Swamis.

For the time being they appear harmless. All that they cause now is noise pollution, and defamation of the true Christian. But basically they are also into a dangerous business, the business of faith. And faith have this very small problem. It makes you vulnerable. Swamis took advantage of their followers faith. These guys are next.

They sell GOD in pieces. They sell miracles. They are the wholesale dealers of faith. Check their internal hierarchy and you will find scandals, self proclaimed Bishops, people with criminal backgrounds etc.

These guys will be the Santhosh Madhavans of the future if we dont put a check on their activities. These guys are getting huge amounts of money from outside India. We ease upon their activities because the police and the government is afraid to touch a sensitive area. Religious sentiments are a powerful excuse for all sorts of nonsense.

The Biggest Media Cover Up Kerala Ever Saw

The entire Santosh Madhavan Episode is a big cover up. The main stream media, the police and the government is trying to cover up something big, really really big using the god man Santhosh as the bait. And who is that bait for ? No doubt, us, the public, the age old donkeys.

Just take a look at the events that happened and the focus of our media and the government. Interpol wanted someone who was into , Someone from Kerala who is into . Now what is our police, media and the government doing ?

These three are after a stupid silly god man. And look at the charges against him. Cheating, Wild life protection. And now some masala also. Porn film making, and that too with children. Now this is enough material for the media and the police to celebrate for a month.

Manorama says that his favourite means of worshipping was some form of naked ritual. At the first instance we will know that its a fake news. Its written by some reporter there just for feeding our imagination. Now all the attention is diverted towards all the fraud god men here. Its good, every god man should be jailed. But we are missing the big show here.

While all this media hungama is happening our little arms dealer will clear his tracks and escape. After a month we will forget about the entire issue. Some thing else will come up by then. Ahhh the engineering and the self finance drama, episode 3 is around the corner.

I appreciate the little arms smuggler from Kerala for having got into a very dangerous and wealthy market. I also appreciate him for making all of us fools by feeding us with cooked up news. What a great way keep the public engaged.

As accused by someone, the arms dealer is connected to some of our politicians. There is no other way, he could get away with this Kerala. The police helped him by removing his photo from the interpol website and replaced it with the poor God man here.

Our politicians and the media has grown to international standards. Politicians are into . And  the media is doing a wonderful job giving us material to think and worry about daily, and that too semi porn content. Child porn and nude worship for Christs sake !!!!

Noam Chomsky once said - is to Democracy what violence is to dictatorship.
