IPhone Hacks - A Marketing Stunt ???

Post Page Rank

I am a conspiracy theorist and I love Micheal Moore documentaries. Now I doubt the real intention behind apple for releasing in a very secure mode and then making a lot of buzz about it.

Ever since was released Ive been hearing about hacks and the hacks are really cool. Today I saw some more cool hacks demoed by Sidharth at the modemo. Nintendo emulators, gravity games, installation managers etc.

From among all the demos here at modemo Sidharth’s demo was the coolest and the audience just loved it. This publicity is the root cause of my doubt. Is this a planned publicity stunt from Apple ?

My friend Tony who is a core techie bought an cos he was interested in the hacking part of it. He got his phone shipped from the US through a friend and he has been trying various hacks on it. Also he is talking about it to everyone.

Hacked applications are more popular than normal apps. Now this definitely looks like a planned publicity stunt ?

Comment, if you agree to me.

Well it look’s more and more like it…
The latest OS was available on the internet Hacked - even before it was released by Apple.

The other thing might be that - as all of Apple’s SW is based on Unix - it is eazier to Hack, as most of the Hacking Community prefers Unix or Linux…

I love that conspiracy theory. The devil hardly knows what goes on in the brilliant, twisted mind of Steve ‘GOD’ Jobs. lol.
I’ve seen comments similar to yours recently in the blogosphere; but your post date suggests you’re an early bird to the concept.
Geeks everywhere love the idea of boasting about the a ‘hacked’ gadget. Pretty much the same reason I picked up a Motorola A780 linux phone in sep’ 06(the hack potential is phenomenal) I see you have a Ming. ;)
But we’re not really hacking are we; just transferring a pre-compiled binary or two up the USB storage hardly qualifies as a hack.
Either Jobs is a master of Reverse Psychology or he’s still a product design genius. Either way, Apple WIN WIN. What a delighfully evil company. Its like the anti-google of Silicon Valley theology.

P.S: my a780 has pitiful battery life; I’m going to turn it into a remote bluetooth surveillance cam or maybe a network router. Pretty much unusable junk minus battery life. :(
