Warehouse to Store Software ???

I was having a discussion with my CA recently about the procedures for starting a software company and he told me an interesting law point that existed.

If my company is doing outsourced software work, according to the law I am doing export business. I must get an export license for doing such stuff.

Some companies were prohibited from operating because they didnt have a warehouse to store the export item (software), and our export laws wanted it that every export company need a warehouse.

Some companies created empty warehouses just to bypass the law.

Its only recently that the law was relaxed.

MyTechnopark Sweets Distribution

Recently I had a discussion with the admin of www.mytechnopark.com which is a forum for the technopark techies. There are many interesting topics under discussion there, also some information for the newbies in technopark. Some gossips also.

The discussion was about making the site more useful the to the technopark crowd, and about ways to increase the membership. Many options were discussed and made some decisions.

The forum had around 900 members, the admin announced that he will distribute sweets when the membership hits 1000. With in 2 weeks the membership became thousand. Sweets were distributed.

But the admin did a smart thing. He printed out cards almost like visiting cards, and on it was printed www.mytechnopark.com The Sweets were pinned on these cards. On the day of distribution, there were 200 new members.

The admin is now trying to provide some useful service to the members. Hope to see some action there.

How my school syllabus made me hate poets

I am not a huge fan of poems, but i can appreciate a simple one. And Im sure Ill not be writing one this life time. Till class 4 the poems were ok. I had enough knowledge to read them and understand atleast 50% of the whole stuff. But from 5th class onwards poems started to become nightmares.

All those so called big poets, with their sanskrit mixed ’superior’ language poems were too hard to digest.  There were poems which I couldnt read completely on my own. Some, even though I can read, didnt even have a clue as to what the context of the poem is. I remember a poem by  the famous “Ezhuthachan” in the 8th STD malayalam text book, it was so horrible that I used to call the writer bad names for having written it.

After 10 years of education and experiences with these horrible poems I still cant write 4 lines of poetry. Is it the failure of the system. ?

When I used to talk about this to my friends, some used to say that its my problem that I cant write poetry. It may be my problem, but can 5% of the students write poems on their own even after 10 years of . ? Whats the use of teaching something that is not useful for atleast 5% of the students.

I can enjoy folk songs, they are simple, and wont need a dictionary to read and understand. You need not be a scholar to write one. But the syllabus didnt contain those. All that I learned is complicated sanskrit poems, and the result is that I hate all the “Mahakavis”

I hope one day the syllabus will change to a much simpler one and everyone passing out schools will be able to write atleast 4 lines of simple poetry.
