Sorry for the bad heading. Suggest me a good heading after reading the concept. Today I met a non tech person with a lot of ideas and this is one of his idea.
We all now have operator provided sim cards. His idea is to eliminate the concept of a personal mobile. One must be able to LOGIN to any mobile and use his connection. A concept very similar to email where we can use any computer or any internet service provider to access my email. All my contacts, and other mobile related data will be on an operator server and I will login to a mobile to use my connection. By this I will be able to attend my calls and make calls from my number using any mobile connection.
When wifi hotspots and wifi phones become popular we will see more of this concept in action. With the commercial operators such a concept is really hard to work out cos of the costs involved in setting up the additional infrastructure.

So if i am not logged in….yak,,,,I will never get my calls…i will get only missed calls..so what will be the benefit of having a mobile phone?? Its an idea that will never works…coz if i didnt get calls real time..then why shud i use mobile? or what is the use of being mobile?? I need calls at real time…not missed calls
Some thing like….when i logged in .. there will be something like 20 missed calls…. or something like tht….or you received missed 20 calls today…
If I forget to log out or range is out at the moment before log out .. and if i am forced to give back the mobile to the owner..then???? same problem as if we forget to log out emails …
Why dont others utilize the wonderful idea introduced by AIRTEL 2 years back(i think its 2 years..not sure) that anybody can transfer their talktime to any other person..that is if I am out of fund and if you have 1000 Rs balance..u can transfer 100 Rs to my account..cool hein na?
A great idea - But if I am right it is already in use….
BSNL has scratch cards for Rs. 100 and so on which has a secret code on it. You can use any BSNL line (I am not sure if this includes the mobile lines) to make a call - and your account will be charged and not the other person’s.
Of course you dont have a provision of receiving calls. Here I think what they can do is provide a voice mailbox where the caller can log in his/her message and the user will have to dial into the mailbox to retrieve it. Just like your e-mail. (I think they call it voice mail box)…………
good but how i can use sms services?
hey tats my idea…. hehe
but more than that the way shld be…
whn u logs into ur mobile the home phn automaticaly disconects and u gets ur call on ur mobile.. whn u come back its back to ur land line… so same number everywhere…
